Research
Drawing from a background in sociology and anthropology, I am interested in connections between material, spatial and cultural practices. My current research explores design as culture and practice, and how actor-network theory and critiques of everyday life can help people understand and shape emergent technoscience.
PhD Dissertation
Following urban computing and locative media from labs, conferences and classrooms to journal publications and popular media accounts, my dissertation presents four technosocial case histories of corporate, academic and artistic design practice.
Teaching
My teaching interests and experience include art and design research, social studies of science and technology, material culture studies, cultural theory and qualitative research methods.

Otherwise & Elsewhere
I keep track of things I find interesting and fun on a tumblelog, and I sometimes listen to music at last.fm. I love graphic novels, I prefer my beer pale or bitter, and I believe that the best superhero power is shape-shifting.
